Technical User Experience Manager
This individual will work with product analysts, product managers, engineers, sales and marketing, and our customers to produce a world class user experience for PowerReview products.
 
Responsibilities

    Design elegant and compelling user experiences that will live front and center on 5500 websites - including top sites like Staples, Drugstore.com and Room &amp; Board.
    Lead the interaction design direction for all of our products from ideation through implementation and beyond.
    Lead user research and usability testing efforts geared towards being at the forefront of how mobile and social are reshaping the eCommerce landscape.
    Manage a small design team including contractors.  Own and optimize the design process for that team that ensures high design standards and consistency across all products.
    At PowerReviews, we love to move the goalposts forward with innovative ideas the market has never seen before.  Working closely with product management, engineers and visual designers, we will rely on you to make those features simple and intuitive so consumers instantly get it.


Requirements

    7+ years experience working as an interaction designer
    Demonstrated experience designing forward thinking applications that have been used by millions of consumers.
    Comfortable working on consumer facing features as well as complicated back-end tools that push the boundaries of what can be done in the latest browsers
    Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
    Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, agile environment
    Experience with end-user usability testing
    A strong, clean visual design sense


Preferred

    Experience with user-generated content driven systems
    Hands on web development skills, knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Factors, HCI, cognitive science, graphic design or related field
    Experience managing a user experience team
    Ecommerce and/or retail experience
