We are looking for a Research Director who brings the same level of passion and dedication to research.
 
The Research Director leads and shapes our research and customer insight capabilities. This includes designing and selling research programs, expanding our Research team in Brooklyn to meet the needs of our growing client base, and overseeing research projects on many platforms &#8211; including iPads, phones, computers, TVs, and other digital products.
 
The ideal Research Director is obsessed with understanding user behavior and creating actionable insights to meet users&#8217; unmet needs.  The right person will jump in and conduct hands-on research for our most critical and strategic projects while mentoring and teaching other team members on a variety of other projects.
 
Responsibilities:
&#8226;  Lead, shape, and grow user research and customer insight capabilities for Huge
&#8226;  Oversee and ensure the quality of all Research insights and deliverables
&#8226;  Manage and mentor a team of digital user experience research professionals
&#8226;  Collaborate with Designers and Strategists to set research goals and ensure quality research outputs
&#8226;  Identify Huge Research&#8217;s strengths and weaknesses and work to fill gaps and play to strengths in a way that benefits team members and the group as a whole
&#8226;  Work with Engagement Directors and Project Managers to quote, scope and plan research activities for new and existing engagements
&#8226;  Evangelize the value of user research internally and to potential clients
&#8226;  Design, coordinate, moderate, analyze and present findings from any and all forms of digital user research including (but not limited to): one-on-one user interviews, usability tests, user surveys, Voice of Customer tools, remote user testing, card sorts, etc.
&#8226;  Partner with senior clients and client-side research teams
&#8226;  Develop and share archive of research methodologies and observations
&#8226;  Define, lead, and publish internal research projects
 
Requirements:
&#8226;  8+ years hands-on experience with user research and customer insights centered around digital; agency experience a plus
&#8226;  Passion for research and an entrepreneurial spirit
&#8226;  Smart, strategic thinker with a proven ability to multitask and prioritize
&#8226;  Deep knowledge of quantitative research approaches and best practices; ability to construct and implement a sound survey project and transform a raw set of data into valid and transformative insights; deep familiarity with SPSS or similar statistical package
&#8226;  Deep knowledge of qualitative research approaches and best practices; ability to craft a relevant, compelling user study and to communicate observations into project-relevant findings
&#8226;  Ability to adjust research tasks based on timing (comfortable with guerilla testing and quick turnarounds)
&#8226;  Ability to create actionable findings that lead to smart strategies and best-in-class designs
&#8226;  Familiarity with Morae and/or other usability testing software
&#8226;  Fluency with usability heuristics and relevant HCI literature  
&#8226;  Experience managing, growing, and mentoring a team of other researchers
&#8226;  Strong writing, editing, and oral communication skills
&#8226;  Expert moderation skills
&#8226;  UX design experience is a bonus
&#8226;  Proactive, hands-on person who loves a challenge
