Experience Director
Huge is seeking an Experience Director in the DC office to lead, build, and cultivate its growing User Experience team. A successful head of UX at Huge is a strategic product owner, a team player, a trusted client partner, a solid manager and recruiter, and a skilled practitioner all rolled into one.

On projects, the Experience Director will lead and inspire (and do!) anything an account might need. The work includes digital strategy and interaction design across any touchpoint, including web, mobile, social, tablet and in-store. We’re looking for a person who understands every aspect of the UX process: from upfront research and analysis, to developing a sound strategic vision, all the way through detailed design and QA. This is NOT just a role for pushing designers to follow best practices. Directors must seek out opportunities to create innovative approaches to all design problems.

In addition to project work, the Experience Director will shape and grow the User Experience department, manage and mentor other interaction designers and content strategists, and play a key role in business development.

Additional Responsibilities:
Oversee any kind of UX project deliverables (such as strategic vision briefs, concepts, wireframes, site maps, workflows, etc.) while partnering with other disciplines for a stellar final product
Be hands on, should the project need it
Work closely with clients guiding brainstorms, leading working sessions, and giving senior presentations
Grow and advise more junior talent in any department
Collaborate with Client Services to create project scopes, schedules, and road maps

Requirements/Qualifications:
Typically, 10+ years experience creating interfaces, large scale websites, or applications
Successful track record leading interdisciplinary teams in creating killer products that consider innovation and usability
Inspires passion, dedication, and great work from others
Thinks holistically and strategically about a client’s business
Has engaging presentation style + solid writing and visual communication skills
Works collaboratively with other intelligent and talented types – no egos please
Open to feedback and knows how and when to defend design choices
The curiosity of a scientist and the passion of an artist

Our Washington, DC, location focuses on bringing great UX design and strategy to government, associations and businesses in the region. The DC team is smaller and has more of a startup feel. No matter which office you're in, Huge is a culture that emphasizes pitching in to get the job done.
