We are looking for a Senior Usability Researcher specialized in our mobile channels. Your user insights about our apps and mobile websites will help the business understand opportunities and challenges for growing Booking.com on all mobile devices. Your area of expertise should spread across all mobile phones and tablets on which our website can be accessed. Most of your concrete advises will be centered on the optimization of user experience for visitors. You will need to have strong (mobile) usability experience and e-commerce background.
You will be responsible for deciding what method to use, which data to capture, and how to interpret and communicate the results to your colleagues. Your personal toolkit is composed of a variety of methods, including traditional one-one usability interviews, surveys, and data analysis. You will focus on short-term conversion, commission and long-term customer loyalty.
This role will require occasional travel across the world to conduct research. Day-to-day you will be working with usability and analytics specialists, product owners, designers and developers. This position is located in our global headquarters in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
You will mainly use your knowledge to:
Initiate and execute research to discover opportunities for concrete website optimization experiments
Provide in-depth research insights and communicate the most relevant industry and competitive insights to stakeholders in all departments
Help the mobile teams prioritize and refine their projects by providing the user perspective
Passionate hands-on mobile usability researcher
Excellent analytical skills
Good communication skills
Entrepreneurial attitude and able to work independently
A strong commercial mindset
Resourceful, pragmatic thinker
Data driven, with a feeling for numbers
Self-starter, highly motivated, team-player
Fluency in English, both verbal and written
At least 7-8 years of proven experience in usability- and market research - doing both qualitative user interviews and quantitative data analysis
Several years of research experience on mobile phones and tablets
Consultancy experience (preferred)
Experience working with A/B testing (preferred)
Master's degree in: psychology, sociology or marketing (or related disciplines)
