Draftfcb is currently seeking outstanding students or recent graduates of Human Computer Interaction, or similar fields of study, as interns along side our team of talented User Experience Architects. Our User Experience Architecture (UXA) practice consists of usability professionals who possess well-rounded skill sets in information architecture, user interface design, rich interaction design, HCI standards, usability research, and content strategy. The User Experience Architects play an integral role in the development of our clients' web sites. As an UXA intern at Draftfcb, you will collaborate closely with the User Experience Architects and other in-house teams involved in the Web development process and contribute to the planning process of various Web sites, organizing information, conducting high-level research, developing Web site architecture documentations.
With guidance from a User Experience Architect mentor, a UXA intern will:
• Gain knowledge and familiarity with Information Architecture and related concepts
• Gain familiarity with the Information Architecture toolset (E.g. applications and project documentations)
• Produce high-level research such as competitive studies, technology trend studies, consumer research (relevant to clients)
• Support UXA staff with IA documentation creation (site maps, wire frames, use cases and process flows, etc.) maintenance and distribution
Required Skills:
• Currently enrolled in a recognized college or university program in information design, human-computer interaction, library science, or cognitive science
• Preference will be given to students who have completed courses in interaction design, information design, information architecture and usability
• Have some prior work experience in web site or software development
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team environment
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with good multi-tasking abilities
• Knowledge of Visio and other relevant UE applications
