Vault.com Inc. http://www.vault.com Full Time, New York City (Chelsea) Vault.com—the most trusted name in career information—is seeking an Interaction Designer with 4+ years of experience creating sitemaps, wireframes, visual designs and interaction specifications for successful websites. The Interaction Designer will report to the Head of Web Product Management and will support product development efforts during the entire lifecycle from ideation to implementation—collaborating with product managers and stakeholders throughout the company, balancing business priorities, evaluating the competition, creating designs consistent with our brand and usability principles, and evangelizing a user-centered approach. Vault is a 10-year-old, profitable career website and publisher located in Manhattan. Responsibilities: • Deliverables include: design briefs, design strategy, competitive analyses, sitemaps, wireframes, interaction specifications, visual designs, build specifications, etc. • Translate business strategies into functional designs • Lead creative meetings during the design and development process; present and defend design proposals. • Collaborate with human factors specialists to develop consistent user interfaces, navigation, information design and visual design • Create scalable information architectures • Provide input and support for user research and usability test plans • Advocate for the user and evangelize user-centered design methodologies • Propose designs which leverage and work within the limitations of modern web technology (CSS, AJAX, etc.) • Work with IT to ensure accurate-to-specs implementation • Propose and drive enhancements to all of the above including process improvements Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts or equivalent highly preferred • 3+ years of web design experience required; 4+ years preferred • Must have strong visual design skills and usability expertise • Some understanding of internet technologies and trends including CSS, video, social networking, content management, user tracking, RSS etc. • Writing code is NOT a requirement for this position Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
