Electronic Ink is the leading design firm dedicated to creating and refining the experience for users interacting with digital products. From its offices in Philadelphia, New York, London, and Raleigh, Electronic Ink improves the design and usability of software applications, enterprise software, web applications, and web sites.

We are seeking an experienced Usability Engineer to guide our clients' understanding of their end users within the application design process.

Overall Responsibility:
The Human Factors Analyst is responsible for usability testing of wireframes, prototypes, software applications, web sites, web applications, handheld devices, and various other technologies. It is critical that the candidate is able to quickly and effectively communicate actionable recommendations (both verbal and written) to the Design team and business stakeholders. The candidate will represent Electronic Ink in a professional manner and understand the goals of the client and the project.

Key Areas of Responsibility (or Essential Functions):
• Understand how people use technology through observation and analyses.
• Improve user experiences and user interfaces to make designs and processes user-centered.
• Conduct contextual interviews and observation.
• Identify and profile end users and their requirements.
• Conduct competitive and heuristic usability analysis.
• Conduct usability walk-throughs and usability testing studies.
• Analyze resulting data, create reports, and deliver findings.
• Perform the above within allocated budget and timeframes.

Skills:
• User advocacy.
• Experience in research and usability testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with data presentation tools (PowerPoint, Word).
• Detail oriented.

Experience Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years experience in user usability testing. Completed research projects that demonstrate an application of research methods to collect and analyze usability data.

Educational Requirements:
• Advanced degree and background in human computer interaction, engineering, communication, psychology, or related area.

Salary range: $70,000-95,000 (depending on experience and education)
