The person in this role will work as part of a team to leverage functional knowledge and technical expertise in order to create innovative and effective electronic communication solutions for our clients that support their HR delivery structure.
Responsibilities:
Serve Our Clients
Assess client's current state of electronic communication and their business needs.
Propose appropriate solutions that leverage both best practices and creative thinking.
Present trends, technical information, and potential solutions to the client in an easy-to-digest manner.
Help lead clients through the strategy, design, implementation, and operations of HR electronic communication initiatives that are aligned with their overall business mission, climate, culture, and structure.
Contribute as a team member and manage parts of smaller client projects that include an electronic communication component.
Provide input to budget, scope, and timeline development for client projects that include an electronic communication component.
Help determine client's functional and technical requirements, define functional and technical architecture for solution, and create detailed specifications.
Coordinate design, development, testing, and implementation efforts.
Coordinate with client's web communication and corporate communication staff.
Develop IT client relationships.
Enhance Associate Engagement
Build upon the expertise of other consultants when developing client solutions.
Educate other consultants about the relevant technical tools, resources, and topics in the area of electronic communication.
Take responsibility for your own engagement by working closely with your people manager, asking questions, and raising issues.
Strengthen Our Business
Apply electronic communication standards, consulting models, tools, and templates to deliver client results in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Contribute to knowledge management and to the development of effective consulting models.
Generate revenue by identifying and pursuing opportunities to extend and expand our work at existing clients and meeting billable targets.
Manage projects to ensure profitable delivery.
Continue to grow professional skills in your primary communication specialty and apply those skills with excellence in client situations.
Assist in selling new client work related to electronic communication and identify opportunities to provide traditional communication services.
Evaluate competitors' electronic communication capabilities.
Monitor and evaluate emerging electronic communication practices and technologies.
Requirements:
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in technology or communication-related discipline or equivalent experience, Master's degree/MBA a plus.
Minimum 5 years of relevant consulting experience, including at least 2 years experience in the area of electronic communication consulting.
Experience in technical areas such as client-server software development, software testing, systems implementation, database management, and operational support.
Knowledge of security and networking principles.
Expert knowledge of web technologies, terms, practices, and trends.
Some knowledge of HR practices and trends.
Awareness of HR content areas, HR data systems, and ERP products.
Demonstrated technical skills in areas such as human factors, creative direction, information architecture, or process analysis.
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office tools.
Strong presentation skills.
Demonstrated capacity to quickly learn and appropriately apply specialized software tools.
Experience with technical project management.
Demonstrated business development skills.

One of the characteristics of a successful consulting career is the ability and willingness to be flexible to meet the needs of clients when and where they need us. During many of our busier months of the year, it is not unusual for associates to work more than 115% of total standard time (considerably more for our most experienced consultants) to meet client commitments, especially when travel is required.
