  <description>Cisco is looking for a designer to join the growing User Experience team responsible for Cisco's Support web site. As a member of this team, you will work collaboratively with business stakeholders, product and project managers, IT engineers and developers to define, design and validate the best user experience possible.


Users of Cisco&#8217;s Support web site come to the site looking for solutions, technical documentation and advice. It is the User Experience team&#8217;s job to ensure that the paths to their success are clear and well marked. 


You will have a broad knowledge of information architecture deliverables and usability testing methodologies.  You can cite multiple successes by employing the most effective techniques available from the information architecture, user research and usability testing toolboxes. If you also have competent HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills, you will be engaged in prototyping new concepts and ideas. You are equally clear and comfortable communicating with clients via face-to-face, telephone, email, and video-conferencing settings. You are an advocate for collaborative and iterative processes.

&#8226; Has a strong knowledge of key deliverables and know how and when to best use each one, based on timeline, technologies, etc.
&#8226; Can convincingly articulate ideas, be open to change, and be prepared to iterate deliverables through aggressive timelines. 
&#8226; Actively engages in staying current with research literature and studies in the user experience world
&#8226; Has an extreme passion for one (or more) of the areas of information architecture, user testing, business analysis, persuasion architecture
&#8226; Able to thrive in both big-picture and fine-detail worlds and be prepared to scale from one end to the other.
&#8226; Considers collaborative environments the ideal setting for success.


Requirements: 
&#8226; 6+ years of relevant experience in the web environment, participating on a daily basis the multiple activities required of a user experience practitioner.  This includes a solid understanding of user research and testing (usability/benchmark testing, heuristics, flows, use cases, wireframes, specifications, etc.), enterprise information architecture, and industry best-practices. 
&#8226; Able to develop new approaches and convey these designs through functional flows, wireframes and use case scenarios, then present them concisely to the appropriate groups. Continue the flow of communication by working closely with engineers to implement the design. 
&#8226; Vigilant attention to detail and consistency, throughout the project lifecycle &#8211; from nomenclature to corporate standards to prototyping.
&#8226; Able to independently grasp and create complex design requirements and specifications for the purpose of implementation. 
&#8226; Is a champion of what Web 2.0 offers &#8211; for how it can support the best user experience rather than its &#8220;coolness&#8221; factor.
&#8226; Understands the importance of SEO/SEM/SEP planning, web analytics data, and the voice of the customer.
&#8226; Education/certification in Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Human Factors, Industrial Design, or related field.
