  <description>The Knowledge Management Competency Center (KMCC) at SAP is seeking a Senior Information Designer to help design/prototype internal innovative and intuitive user interfaces for the Sales &amp; Marketing colleagues.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the user centered design (UCD) process and mastery of information architecture, user interface design and visual design. The candidate would have a passion for designing user friendly interfaces for an international user group. The candidate will have experience with basic user research techniques such as contextual inquiry, user interviews, taxonomy and usability testing and a solid understanding of how to incorporate user requirements/research into the user interface design process. The Senior Information Designer will support the development of standards for the Corporate Portal user experience.The Senior Information Designer will also support KMCC engagements, and translate usability testing results into improved Portal design.

Duties and responsibilities
&#8226;	Design and prototype user interfaces, including creating sitemaps, wireframes, screen mockups, style guides, behavioral specifications, content analysis, information graphics and icons. Also may include providing strategy translating business strategy into the digital environment. Create user scenarios, business process task flows, taxonomies and mental models. 
&#8226;	Perform expert design &amp; usability reviews of existing internet micro-sites and web-based applications
&#8226;	Provide consulting and process leadership for UCD best practices for internal KMCC projects and other groups.
&#8226;	Assist the Human Factors engineers with user research such as ethnography, contextual inquiry, user interviews, mental models and usability testing.
&#8226;	Assist in the identification of new technology opportunities for our user group
&#8226;	Define and promote user interface best standards and usability guidelines. 
&#8226;	Ability to manage, work within or extend existing brand guidelines in the digital realm.


Requirements
&#8226;	BA or BS degree in design, human-computer interaction or related discipline. Advanced degrees strongly desired.
&#8226;	7+ years Extensive experience with internets and business web applications. Mastery of information architecture, navigation, user task analysis, content analysis &amp; mapping, interface and interaction design, visual design, information graphics and icon creation for user interfaces. 
&#8226;	A strong understanding of the implimentation and education of UCD and usability best practices and the ability to educate others.
&#8226;	Excellent understanding of business requirements and project management 
&#8226;	Strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong empathy and the ability to listen to business experts, users and test subjects. Must have good writing skills for daily communication and reports.
&#8226;	Familiar with designing for enterprise knowledge management tools (SAP and 3rd Party)&#8212;portals, content management systems, collaboration technologies, CRM systems and communication systems. Must demonstrate experience designing interfaces for CSS, HTML, XHTML, and Javascript. 
&#8226;	A solid mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excell and MSProject) is required. 
&#8226;	Interest in international travel (1-3 weeks a year). Must be able to rent a car.
