Sr. UI Designer- Be Responsible for Customer Experience, Site Architecture, Interaction, & Aesthetics.

Amazon.com is looking for an innovative and enthusiastic senior designer interested in expanding our business in new innovative directions. Are you excited about the prospect of leveraging design and technology to change the way the business transactions can be streamlined?

Vendor Systems team is responsible for building self service applications that will allow Amazon.com vendors to take greater advantage of our platform. Our mission is to create the systems and tools required for vendors to help themselves. Help themselves do everything. They need to be able to register and manage their accounts, set up products not already in the catalog, identify themselves as suppliers of a product, provide cost and availability updates, manage purchase orders, view sales, inventory and compliance reports, send advance shipment notifications and much more. The VSS team is creating vendor facing applications that enable vendors to do all of this. The goal is to dramatically increase the selection and drive operational efficiencies and build a collaborative environment for vendors to operate in.

As a Senior UI designer, you will be responsible for the customer experience, site architecture, interaction, and aesthetics for vendor interactions at Amazon. You will work collaboratively with the engineers, product managers and usability specialists to create a new, unique and compelling customer experience. It will involve interacting with users in designing and creating process flows, wireframes and screen mockups illustrating the user interaction and user interface for multiple tools.

The ideal candidate will also be a persuasive advocate for the customer, able to guide technical teams in user-centered design principles and brainstorm with business owners.

Qualifications:
- Successful candidates will have a mastery of the user-centered design process, the principals of web design, and scalable dynamic GUIs.
- Successful candidate will provide a well rounded online portfolio showcasing their most complex and difficult UI challenges to date with the ability to verbally communicate the sound reasoning for their design decisions.
- Solid examples of process flows, wireframes, mock ups and style guides.
- Expertise in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash (with actionscript), and Web 2.0 concepts and methods are essential.
- Self-starter, customer-focused, detail-oriented, comfortable working on cross-functional teams, and able to handle a highly complex project in a fast-paced environment.
- 3 plus years of industry experience.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in art and design.
